Audience Feedback - Final Cut
Once the music/pop promo video editing process was complete we presented the text later on in the day. This time to the same audience as earlier on in the day when we presented the 1st draft as well as a female audience in order to gain a final all rounded opinion on the music/pop promo music video.
As the video below suggests the audience where impressed with our piece and felt it was both engaging and communicating. Two targets we has set out for the music video to achieve and was therefore satisfied with the audiences feedback.

Audience Feedback - 1st Draft
We gathered our target audience (boys aged between 18-21) and our media teacher to provide feedback on our 1st draft of our music/pop promo video. The clip below provides the feedback the audience gave us after viewing the text, It is worth noting that the music/pop promo video was approximately half edited at this point and areas in which some of the audience speak of 'blank spaces' in the text which could be filled with text was already an intention, along with the adding of effects etc.
Myself and my partner working on the music/pop promo video wanted feedback on the clip as it stands half way through the editing process and as the clip below suggests we were happy with the audiences response and felt the feedback on improvements will help us as we further edit and produce the final cut.

Audience Feedback - Ancilliary Task - Poster (2nd Draft/Final Piece)
Having considered what the focus group had suggested we work on I put all three key improvements into the poster.
However due to the loss of the fully monochromatic effect the 'gradient shading' effect would have provided I decided against using this effect into the background of my poster as I felt it ruined the "eye catching factor" that was considered as a positive in the 1st draft.
However as it can clearly be seen I have considered the rearranging of the brightness and contrast levels within the background image of both the band members and whilst retaining the camera flash reflection effect being generating on both band members faces I have been able to enhance the tones of black on both band members bodies. So that both the strong black of the text is fitting with the black tones of the band members clothing etc.
As well as this I also moved the bands name/logo further up the poster along with the date of the albums release (presented in Roman numerals) in order to remove the sense of a compact and "squashed in" image onto the poster. However in order to achieve clarity in the posters information I added the date in modern numbers underneath the roman numerals to ensure the release date was clear. This was important as a vast amount of our audience wasn't sure what the numbers from the roman numerals translated into.
As well as this I also added the bands record company logo onto the poster in order to comply to conventional aspects of a pop promo poster.

Audience Feedback - Anciliary Task - Poster (1st Draft)
We presented our 1st draft poster to an audience of people and asked for their opinion and initial response to the poster.
Positive feedback included the strength of the "eye catching element" the poster obtained through the bold use of both black and white. The image of the two band members was effect in that it gave a clear indication to the character of the bands members and their style and the use of numerals was considered "effective" as well as the use "unique" typography used within the bands name text.
However valid pointswhere made in the areas to which we could improve the piece. For example the image of the two band members being in black and white almost looked "grey" in tone compared to the bold black font in the text. The image appeared almost "cramped" onto the poster and that maybe a use of a shading effect from the bottom upwards could be interpreted into the poster.
These where valid and essential points from our focus groups and these will be the core focus of improvements for the 2nd draft/final piece.

Pre-Production: Music Video Inspiration
In order to form a 'foundation', a solid theme or meaning/purpose to the music video I intend to produce I believe I need to express something that I fully understand and am a strong believer in. Clearly considering that I consider myself a strong believer in the feminist movement I feel this will be my most successful expression within the music video I am to produce.
Having researched on-line to enhance and broaden my understanding of feminism I came across this 'short film' by Beyonce in which she discusses her life, and her interpretation of life and it's meaning, she also discusses her understanding of feminism and humanism. I am most inspired and most believing in this clip as I find myself constantly agreeing and understanding with what Beyonce discusses in this text.
Therefore I will take this clip and it will serve as my inspiration in the production on my music video. Although I intend to generate my own style the context of this clip will provide me with a surface in which I can ground my ideas and expression within my own music/pop promo video.

Pre-Production - Location Recce
We laid down our white sheet which covered the entire floor and adjusted the lighting as required. Once we had done this and set the camera and tripod up as required we was ready to begin filming.

Pre-Production - Treatment of Music Video
The video begins with short one second shots with a letter for each to introduce the music video as the dialect of an interview is heard, the letters will be a solid bold white against a background which will consist of separate extracts of the music video, however the shots will be presented to quickly for the audience to notify what is going on and therefore will generate enigma and intended confusion as to what is about to be presented to them. In the final of these one second opening scenes the entire word that has been spelt out ‘FEMINARCHY’ will be presented as the opening music is heard and a hard cut is made to the shot of the first of two singers against a white background.
The first singer will be standing behind a lectern as she begins to recite her dialect to the assembly of girls sat in front of her at chairs, the bodies of the girls will be facing back to the camera and a wide shot will present the entire image as the first singer sings in an informative style to her audience of girls. As the music begins to blend into the third set of music two shots will combine, the present shot and the third scene consisting of two girls now standing by the side of a chair with a man sitting in them. The two shots will be blending together in short shots to generate a fast pace which will keep with the tempo of the music, as the base drops and a crashing sound effect is heard on the audio, the third scene is now fully in form and the third set of audio ‘Partition’ is now playing.
The two women are dressed with pure black outfits, tied back hair and white plastic masks to block all audience emotional connection with the girls, in essence this shall encourage the women to be objectified, yet the use of a camera shots that will not conform to the ‘male gaze’ theory should cause discomfort particularly for male viewers as the two girls begin to dance in a typically ‘seductive’ style around the men.
Remaining in the third scene yet now returning to the audio from the opening singing scene the second of two singers appears in the corner of the scene and a tracking camera follows his movement around the scene as the dancers are in a ‘freeze frame’ the singer walks around them, analysing the scene and passing judgment through his dialect. Then the singer walks off the scene, the first audio continues and the girls come out of ‘freeze frame’ and take off their white masks, signifying their empowerment. The girls now control the men through a puppetry style of dance and pushes them to the floor and they are now gone from the scene.
In the final section as the audio comes to its conclusion the two singers appear at the middle of the scene and walk forward to the girls and they sing the final section of the song, the audio ends of the hard stop and to support this a hard cut to a black scene with the bands logo in bold white text (matching the ‘FEMINARCHY’ text) will be presented, the video ends.
