We presented our 1st draft poster to an audience of people and asked for their opinion and initial response to the poster.
Positive feedback included the strength of the "eye catching element" the poster obtained through the bold use of both black and white. The image of the two band members was effect in that it gave a clear indication to the character of the bands members and their style and the use of numerals was considered "effective" as well as the use "unique" typography used within the bands name text.
However valid pointswhere made in the areas to which we could improve the piece. For example the image of the two band members being in black and white almost looked "grey" in tone compared to the bold black font in the text. The image appeared almost "cramped" onto the poster and that maybe a use of a shading effect from the bottom upwards could be interpreted into the poster.
These where valid and essential points from our focus groups and these will be the core focus of improvements for the 2nd draft/final piece.
